Verio
Disconnects 1,000 Bezeq Sites
October 12, 2004
Bezeq
International, an international subsidiary of Israeli telecommunications
monopoly holder Bezeq (bezeq.co.il), had approximately 1,000 of the Web
sites it hosts go offline after the company was disconnected by its Web
hosting provider Verio (verio.com), according to a report by Haaretz.com.
Bezeq and Verio have reportedly been involved in a commercial dispute over
financial issues and customer service policy.
According to the report, talks broke down last week, causing Verio to
disconnect Bezeq's service, leaving the sites offline.
Bezeq is working on supplying alternative hosting services for the
stranded customers and claims to have backed up data, the report said.
